The Killers offended by Green Day October 25, 2006

I knew I loved the Killers…I knew it wasn’t just music. In an interview with Brandon Flowers (lead singer of The Killers) on NME .com, Brandon says Green Day’s calculated anti-Americanism is offensive. God bless this man! I’m not personally offended by Green Day’s song or opinion, I think they are absolutely the embodiment of their own song however. That is they are idiots and American, whether they like it or not. The song is juvenile and certainly calculated to rile up the young, media educated, liberal youth. Which is all fine and dandy, do what you please, but I’m just glad someone in the industry recognizes that. Thank you Brandon, by the way, your new cd is great, I’m not crazy about your new facial hair, but the music is dope.

The Killers could only hope to have one tenth the talent of Green Day. And the American Idiot song wasn’t anti american it was anti american stupidity as presented by such conservative icons as Bush, Coulter, Limbaugh, and the rest.
The Killers as a band? OK but nothing special…
In the words of the father on “That 70’s Show” – you’re a dumb ass. Go Killers! – It’s not about talent, it’s about loving your country – that allowed you to become disgustingly rich – for just strapping a piece of wood with strings around your neck and spewing out nonsense.
